Hyland Ski Hill (Morty’s) (First visit of 2011) – Bloomington, MN

I looked back at previous posts on this blog to see if I had reviewed Morty’s yet this year. I haven’t. However, I’ve reviewed it a ton of times in previous years and keep loving it every time I go there. This means a super quick review, since it’s the first time of the season. Just eat here.

This year, they actually have a SIGN that tells you there is a place to eat there. It’s a move in the right direction, although I’d love to see some advertising for this place. It is a REALLY well hidden gem for lunch during the work week.

This time around, I got Morty’s version of a Taco Burger. The meat has taco seasoning in it and it’s covered with pepperjack cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and it comes with a side of guacamole. The burgers are quite large, so be ready for that. You’ll get full eating here. The food is delicious and the people are really fun. I’m guessing these city workers actually enjoy their jobs. PLUS, the snack shop is in the lodge of the ball golf driving range and the disc golf course, so you’ll be heading inside anyway (I got my season pass for the disc golf course this trip, so lunch was a little pricier than usual – hahaha).

Also, I love their tots.

Seriously, check out Morty’s. It’s just off I-494 on West Bush Lake Road (look for the Olympic ski jump structure on top of the hill). Turn south on Bush Lake and keep going straight through the lights. You’ll drive right into the parking lot.
